The Process
Joining the SAS network meant I could start flying commercial jobs within weeks instead of spending a year navigating CAA paperwork on my own. The training was thorough and the lead flow from day one made the business viable immediately.
Questions
No β this is one of the biggest advantages of joining SAS. You operate under our existing CAA Operational Safety Case, which would otherwise take 6-12 months and significant cost to obtain independently.
No. We can advise on aircraft purchase using our network discount, or in some cases arrangements can be made for equipment access. This is discussed during the application process based on your specific situation.
Territories are based on agricultural land area, existing demand and operator capacity. Most territories cover one to three counties depending on farming intensity in the area.
Operators retain the majority of revenue from jobs in their territory, with a percentage supporting the national infrastructure, marketing, CAA compliance and ongoing support. Full terms are provided during the discovery call.
Many operators run this alongside existing agricultural contracting or farming work, since the season (typically MarchβSeptember) often complements other seasonal activities.
Typically 4-8 weeks from application to flying commercially, depending on training scheduling and any equipment arrangements needed.
